A Christian Worldview
A Christian worldview. What is it? And why do we need it?
In today's world, confusion—and evil—are growing ever stronger. It is politically incorrect to call anything right or wrong ... good or evil. Everything is relative. Many of those things that were once held dear by most people are being crushed under the feet of people who are anti-God—and anti-life. Millions of babies are being slaughtered before they leave the womb. Marriage is being mocked as more and more claim that same-sex "marriage" should be allowed. Confusion and division are rampant.
But God's people are growing stronger as well. Many are demonstrating a passion to do His will no matter what the cost.
If we don't have a good basic understanding of God's Word and the principles it teaches, even as Christians we can be led astray so easily. We need to make the Bible our filter for understanding what is going on. And then we need to be willing to stand ... and to act ... according to God's will and His plan. We need to embrace a Christian worldview.
Here are some sites that discuss a biblical worldview and provide up-to-date information of current events from a Christian perspective.
Some of them suggest ways you can get involved in acting on that perspective. I encourage you to find some favorite sites where you can learn about what is happening on an on-going basis ... and prayerfully consider what God wants you to do. He calls all believers to pray and to share the gospel with others both by the way we live and what we say. But even beyond that He has a plan for each of us. Seek him daily to find his purpose and his plan for you in combating evil and in reaching out with the love of Jesus to a lost and hurting world.

Most have adopted these ideas into their own worldview, while still others go on to renounce their Christian faith altogether.
Summit views its role in God's kingdom as a catalyst to counteract this alarming trend. However, our ultimate goal supersedes simply training. As Christians are challenged to stand strong in their faith and defend truth, they will also be equipped to have a positive influence on the society in which they live."

Colson / Zondervan Chuck Colson brings together his political experience and his Christian commitment of faith to take on the issues of church and state. Speaking plainly, clearly, and to the point, God & Government (a revised and updated edition of Kingdoms in Conflict) offers a uniquely challenging view of politics, power, and the evangelical pulpit in America. Colson tackles such issues as Christians in politics, civil disobedience, and political structures, and shows why Christians who truly understand the Kingdom of God and their role in the world are the most responsible citizens. Discover why the church and state are kingdoms in conflict (as well as how an individual can be both a Christian and a patriot) in this provocative, practical and challenging look at the role of the church in society, the role of government in the world, and the role of Christians in each. |

What Is a Christian Worldview? By Philip Graham Ryken / P & R Publishing What does Christianity have to do with ordinary life? Many people seek to have a biblical view of life, yet fail to apply that biblical mindset, or worldview, to all parts of their lives. Ryken reveals the basis of the Christian worldview and describes how it affects one's view of God, creation, the family, work, the arts, and other issues. 64 pages, softcover from P & R Publishing. |
